Smalls & Friends

A few of the legends, sidekicks, and lovable troublemakers from the Smalls universe.

Smalls the Wonder Dog

Smalls

The Wonder Dog

Born on July 4th, 2008, Smalls was a true patriot. He loved his country, the flag, and most of all his Grandma.

Adopted in June 2009, Smalls did not always listen and rarely fetched on command, but he could sit, lay down, shake hands, and even dance when asked. He occasionally left little surprises in odd places just ask his Grandma.

Smalls loved tug-of-war, long walks on the beach, being a little thick-headed, and, of course, snausages.

Smalls passed away on December 5th, 2022, at the age of 14, but his spirit lives on.

Jaxx the Other White Meat

Jaxx

The Other White Meat

Often called Cracker Jaxx, the "other brother Darrell," he was a devoted fan of Bob Newhart. Born on November 4th, 2007, this Smooth Fox Terrier could sit, lay down, and stay...when he felt like it.

Jaxx loved running, chasing rabbits, belly rubs, and eating just about anything, especially Thanksgiving turkey.

Jaxx eventually left on his own. Mischievous, stubborn, and full of nonsense, he made his mark while he was here.

Smoke the Tom Cat

Smoke

The Tom Cat

Smoke eventually became Dad's cat. He would visit the house, get petted, hang out for a while, and then disappear on his own terms.

After Dad passed, Smoke would even check in on Smalls, keeping a little connection alive. One day, though, he did not return and has not been seen since.

Tinkerbell the Princess

Tinkerbell

Tiny, Fancy, and In Charge

Tinkerbell, or just Tinker, was a little black toy poodle and a faithful companion from childhood. She lived 18 wonderful years and passed away in 1992.

Tinkerbell loved going to the beauty shop to get prettied up, and she always wore her sparkly, colorful collar. Small but confident, she carried herself like she ran the show, because in her mind she did.

Shep the German Shepherd

Shep

The German Shepherd

Shep was our family dog when I was a young boy on Tarpy Drive. A strong and loyal companion, he patrolled the neighborhood with all the seriousness of a German Shepherd.

Sadly, Shep passed away when something happened in the neighborhood. He was found in the springtime, and though the details are sad, we remember him as a part of those early years.
